I can confirm that as recently as Sunday night, I was able to get into full matches within 20-30 seconds, so it's possible that the new dedicated servers weren't prepared for the load of new players all trying to connect today. It's really rare (on PS4, anyway) to have trouble finding matches under normal conditions, in my experience.

On Xbox, you did indeed have to have a microphone plugged in to hear anyone. It's the only game I know of that did it that way, and I assume it still does. It's probably because of the mechanic associated with finding walkie-talkies in the game, which expand the range at which other counselors can hear you. Wow that's weird and unfortunate
