There is a level float switch to control this on most, but not all engines. red warning lights mean stop driving immediately, and the red oil light
warrent1 Discussion starter. 19 posts · Joined 2011. #1 · Aug 25, 2015. Our 1.6 SRi 2011 reg, has the Malfunction indicator light on when the car is running. It came on, on the 22.08.15, the same day we got the recall for the parking brake. Now the car keeps cutting out on us.
This is usually a bad connection on the Ect ( engine temp sensor ) so check the wiring / plug connections - to that. Pull the connector off and check the connections - if they are ok, re fasten the connector onand see if thats stopped it. If it has, it was a bad connection thats all -- If not, the sensor is likely bad / failed and will need 5125 posts · Joined 2008. #4 · Aug 18, 2011. The ECU will definitely be coded to the immobiliser. On 1.7 DTi models, a defective solenoid in the pump can cause failure of the ECU due to excessive current draw causing components to burn out. This *should* cause other fault codes to appear.
